Congratulations to the graduates of the 2023 White House Leadership Development Program (WHLDP)! This diverse class of Fellows completed a year of incredible growth, learning about high-priority challenges in the Federal Government, improving their leadership skills, network connections, and strengthening their ability to work on cross-agency initiatives.
“Together, we embarked on a remarkable adventure, delving into the intricacies of the Executive Office of the President,” said Dr. Anyana Banerjee, director of the program. “We faced challenges head-on, celebrated triumphs, and forged an unbreakable bond through shared experiences.”
The Goal
The goal of the WHLDP is to develop government leaders and grow their network connections so they can work together on challenges spanning across federal agencies and jurisdictions. The Fellows are a diverse cohort of accomplished GS-15 career employees who spend their year working on the Federal Government’s highest priority and impact challenges in the Executive Office of the President (EOP).
Fellows Cohort by the Numbers
The 8th WHLDP cohort is made up of 20 Fellows representing 14 federal agencies. These individuals were selected through a highly competitive process and placed in 19 offices within the Executive Office of the President (EOP) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). The Fellows participated in 19 leadership development sessions with senior executives, five questions-and-answer sessions with EOP leaders, six agency visits, over 228 coaching sessions, and three Executive Core Qualifications writing workshops.
The Development Work Continues
As graduates of the leadership program, these Fellows are now members of the WHLDP Alumni Association where they will continue to foster a community focused on learning, leading, networking, and making an impact.
“Together, we will ensure the bonds you’ve formed during this past year remain strong and that your collective influence continues to resonate in your spheres of influence,” Dr. Banerjee said. “The journey you’ve completed is just the beginning of a legacy that will shape the future. I eagerly anticipate the incredible contributions each of you will make and the positive impact you’ll create in the years to come.”
